First Anastasia Sock Finished

This sock was knitted with my Handspun Majestic Sky Merino/Silk. Its my second cast on for the July Sock down 09. When I chose this pattern I didn't realize it was a Toe-up sock. However, I've been wanting to try to knit up a pair of Toe-ups. The last time I had tried to knit up a pair I had got to the heel gusset/heel turn/heel flap area and got really confused so frogged it.

This pattern wasn't confusing at all the provisional cast-on was very easy to do. The pattern itself was very easy to knit and I pretty much had it memorized by the time I got to the leg. The heel according to the pattern was a short row heel. I'd done a few of those so I thought that wouldn't be a problem. Although, doing it backwards (foot to leg) wasn't too bad and actually made my heel look better. When I do the short row heel from the leg down, I can't seem to get the stitches on one side to tighten up like the other side. Working the short row heel from the foot up worked a lot better.

I love this pattern and will be knitting it again!
