Berlin Muster

I started knitting this pair of socks on July 14th for the Sockdown July 2009 in Sock Knitters Anonymous. I found this pattern on Ravelry and loved the design. I decided to use some of my handspun pine merino to knit these socks, as I thought the pattern would look good with this color yarn.

My youngest son PFC Calhoun Adam S. from Ft Bliss TX, was visiting when I started knitting on them. I didn't knitt on them much while he was here so's that I could visit with him. I enjoyed his visit so much that I hated to see him leave. He will be leaving again for his third tour overseas.

When I first started knitting this socks I didn't know that there was a diagram on the last page of the pattern I printed out. So I was reading the written out part and goofed. So I ripped back down to the cuff after my son left and restarted the pattern. I found that I was doing k3tog on stitches that were supposed to be Sl 1, k2tog, psso. I felt like an idiot for making such a stupid mistake. Oh well, I'll definitely rememeber not to do that again.

Thanks Kristen for writting up such a beautiful pattern!!
