Accordian Socks continued

I started knitting on these Accordian Socks January 16, 2010 and finished this first pair on January 29, 2010. I am almost finished with the first sock of the second pair. I'm working on the foot of that sock, so it shouldn't take me much longer to finish it and get the mate started.

I love knitting with the Alchemy Juniper sock yarn. This yarn is just scrumptous to knit socks up with. I've knit up many socks with this yarn and just love the way the socks turn out. Yes, I've knit socks up with other yarns as well, but I just find that this yarn is just so soft when knitting up socks.

There are just so many beautiful colors too that Alchemy Juniper makes. I am going to try and make up socks from all their beautiful yarns. My next pair of these Accordian socks are being knitted with the Alchemy Juniper Jade. This pair was knitted using the Alchemy Juniper Amethyst. I used the Alchemy Juniper Jade in my Riverside Handwarmers.

Diagional Lace Socks (continued)

These socks were started on January 14, 2010 and finished January 30, 2010. They were knitted for my mom, who lives in California. She can only wear cotton so I knitted these up using Opal 2009 cotton sock yarn.

I love the colors in this yarn and will definitely try to get more of this yarn. My mom liked this pattern on another pair of socks that I had made. So I decided to knit her socks up using this pattern.

Yesterday I wrapped them up and printed out the shipping label. So first thing Monday morning I will take them to the post office and mail them off to my mom. She should have a nice new pair of socks to wear come by Wednesday.

Riverside Handwarmers (Continued)

These handwarmers were started on January 11, 2010 and finished on January 15, 2010. I didn't get the picture taken though until January 28, 2010. Yah, I know I'm very slow at taking pictures. LOL I needed to have hubby take the picture and it was hard to catch and get the picture taken.

I love the way these handwarmers turned out and will have to try other handwarmer patterns as well. My customers hands will definitely stay warm when wearing these.

I'm going to have to make myself a pair, that's for sure. Especially when the temperature is only 8 degrees above zero.

Friday's Spinning Day in Phillipston (Cancelled)

Due to a snow storm that came through yesterday, and freezing temperature's, today's Spinning Day was Cancelled. Since I don't have 4 wheel drive on my car, I didn't want to take any chances of getting stuck. However, I am still looking forward to going and will be keeping an eye on the forecast for next week. I'm hoping that sometime next week we'll be able to have our Spinning Day. In the mean time I will be carding up more Green Merino and Superfine White Merino batts for my Saint Patricks Day Yarn.

When I'm not carding I'll be knitting on the Diagonal Socks for my mom (which I only have the cuff left to finish), the Accordian Socks (last pair for customer), and the Zig Zag Scarf (which is also almost finished). I will also be starting on another knit4me in 2010 project soon.

Friday's Spinning Day in Phillipston

This Friday I'm going over to Sugar Hollow Farm to help a fellow Spinner. She just bought a spinning wheel and is having trouble figuring out how to spin on it. She contacted me through my website email and asked if I could help her. So this Friday I'm off to Phillipston to help her out. I figure its my turn to return a favor someone did for me when I was first learning to spin. She asked me if I had a drum carder and if so could I bring it with me on Friday. So not only will I be helping her with her spinning wheel but, we'll be carding batts as well. LOL What a fun day I'm going to have. I really am looking forward to this. So today in between knitting on the Diagonal Socks, Accordian Socks and the Zig Zag Scarf I'm going to card up some Green Merino and Superfine White Merino (my Saint Patrick's Day project), so I can spin on my drop spindle while I'm there. I already have one batt carded and started spinning with, so I just need to card up a few more batts to take with me.

Busy Knitting

This week looks to be just like last week.............Busy! I'm still knitting on the Diagonal Socks for my mom. However, I'm almost finished with them. I'm finishing up the heel flap and starting on the leg today of the mate to her socks.

Now as for the Accordian Socks for my customer.....I'm almost finished with the foot of the mate to the first pair. I should be done with this sock today and starting on the second pair. I'm need to get some batteries for my camera to take a picture of the Riverside Handwarmers as well as the Accordian Socks.

The Zig Zag Scarf is coming along too as I now have 34 inches knitted on it. I'd probably have more knitted if I spent more time on it.

My next project is to knit a hat and some socks for the February Kal on SSYC. The socks though will not be started until February 1st. Which is coming up really fast.

First things first though, I must..............must finish these Diagonal Socks and Accordian Socks.

Good Morning and Welcome to Spinning Ginny's

Good Morning Everyone!

Welcome to Spinning Ginny's Handspun Yarn and Other Gifts. I love to spin wool on both my drop spindle and also on my Ashford Kiwi Student Spinning Wheel. Unfortunately for the past week and a half I've neglecticed my spinning, in order to complete some customer orders. I also love making Handmade Goats Milk Soap and have several different Sheep Soaps in various fragrances made up and listed in my store.

I love knitting up Hand knitted socks as well, as you can see from the listings I have available on my website. Right now I'm in the process of knitting up 3 pairs of socks for 2 different customers. I have 2 pairs almost finished and the other pair waiting to be started. I also Knit Dish Cloths and have a few listed on my website as well. I also Knit Scarves from my handspun yarn. I'm in the process of knitting one at this very moment.

I love to Weave as well and have a few projects in the works. I have a 36 inch floor loom that I love to Weave Scarves and Dish Towels on (right now I am weaving dish towels), it. I have a 20 inch Table Top Loom that I'm weaving coverlet squares on, an Inkle Loom, a Tapestry Loom and a 3 Foot Tri-Loom. I just finished taking a project off the Tri-Loom and I'm finishing up the final touches on this project.

I carry a couple Drop Spindles in my store as well as some fiber for spinning. I also have some books on spinning, and knitting. I have a few knitting needles and other knitting supplies as well.
